Los Gigantes Diving Centre
The Marina, Los Gigantes

Diving in Tenerife at Las CuevitasThe business is owned & run by Neville Widdrington - PADI Instructor and BSAC 3 star Instructor. Although registered with the BSAC & PADI, scuba diving licences from all training agencies are recognised & the dive centre has all necessary permits, insurances & is a registered member of the Canary Tourist Board "La Spet". In 12 years of diving in Tenerife, Los Gigantes Diving Centre is justifiably proud of an unbroken safety record, we aim to keep it that way!
A full range of scuba diving courses are available, from beginner to divemaster, as well as many speciality PADI diving courses. The Dive Centre conducts dives from two boats, a wooden hardboat licenced for 10 divers and a smaller Zodiac RIB, both carrying all necessary safety equipment - oxygen is carried on all dives. These are both moored in Los Gigantes marina, about 30 metres away from the dive centre entrance.

The boat, for safety reasons, is never left unattended whilst divers are in the water, unlike most other outfits in Tenerife! Full diving equipment hire is available and divers are provided with weights and 10, 12 or 15 litre steel tanks.Ocean eye video Can provide a complete, professional TV quality, underwater video service available exclusively to clients of Los Gigantes Diving centre. A souvenir video of the underwater delights of Tenerife diving, a video record of your dives, or even an introductory course in underwater video techniques including the PADI underwater videographer speciality qualification, all available from Ocean eye video.
We regularly visit around 20 different diving sites consisting of spectacular volcanic scenery, arches and caverns with plenty to satisfy all levels of experience. The only wrecks are the tourists at the end of their holiday! Offshore depths reach 2000 metres, beyond the reach of the most hardened "techies". We put a sensible (and legally required) depth limit of 40 metres on our dives. The only gas mix we offer is 21% oygen 79% nitrogen "normalair".As most of our dives are of a multi-level nature, good times and safe dive profiles can be achieved. Water temperatures vary from 24º C in summer to 19º C in winter and being sub-tropical Atlantic Ocean means that large pelagics - even Mantas are occasionally seen whilst diving Tenerife. Although there are both hard and soft corals to be seen, they are not in huge formations like the Red Sea or Caribbean. Dives normally depart twice a day, at 10:00 and at 14:00, (closed on Sundays) always returning to port between dives, the Stingray dive (Wednesdays & Saturdays) leaves later, at 15:00, divers should arrive ½ an hour earlier to assemble their equipment. At peak times, we put on more dives per day and operate on Sundays as well. As the furthest dive site is a 1/2 hour boat trip from port, one dive takes no more than about 2 hours of your time - plenty of opportunity to relax in the sun or take a tour with the family to see the spectacular scenery of Tenerife.
