The Canary Island Government insisted on Friday that while they have no current plans to regulate the purchase of a second home in the Canaries, they would not discount doing so in the future.This would limit people from 'outside' the Islands purchasing a holiday home anywhere in the Canaries.  The Government went on to say that they want to stress that this is an option for the future, however, at the moment there are no plans.  A comprehensive study would have to be undertaken to see how many people  within the Canaries currently own a holiday/second home here.
