More visitors to Spain in January
by DestinationTenerifeSpain continued to prove a popular destination for travellers in January, with a year-on-year increase in visitor numbers, according to new figures.
The number of tourists arriving in Spain climbed 0.9 per cent from January 2007 to reach 2.8 million this year, according to the country's tourism ministry.
It appeared to be Canary Islands hotspots such as Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria that were the biggest draw to visitors in the first month of the year, with the archipelago capturing 30 per cent of the total market, Forbes reports.
