The King & Queen of Spain stay at Botanico

The King and Queen of Spain, Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía stayed in the Bill Clinton Suite in the luxurius Hotel Botanico in Puerto de La Cruz last week.  They were here to inaguarate the new telescope located within the Island.

Literally hundreds of people lined the streets, waving flags, hoping for a glimpse of the Royal couple.

On entry, they were greeted by staff, and Woflgang Kiessling, who later during the trip here led them on a tour of Loro Parque.

Sunday sees the grand final of Tenerife's Got Talent

Tenerife's Got Talent, our very own competition, has its Grand Final this Sunday, starting from 3pm onwards.

The venue is the luxurious 5 star Anthelia Hotel in Fañabe, and prices for tickets are €35 for standard and €45 for Platinum.

It will be a great show, and the Winner is guaranteed a contract to perform in Blackpool for a Summer Season, while a top placed winner will also recieve a spot at Birmingham's biggest free festival, including flights and accommodation. (more...)

Spanish King & Queen to visit Tenerife

On Thursday July 23rd, Don Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia will be in Tenerife to inaugurate the Cristino de Vera building, in San Cristobal, La Laguna.

The building was established in 2005, when the artist himself donate over 100 of his works.  The bank CajaCanarias sponsored it's renovation in the 18th centruy.

On Friday July 24th, the King & Queen will move on to La Palma to open the GTC (Gran Telescopio Canarias).

Thailand Princess visits Tenerife

One of Thailand's Princesses came to visit Tenerife this week, to visit Loro Parque and Siam Park, which both protray an accurate representation of Thailand architecture and culture.

Christoph Kiessling, the director of Siam Park, guided her around Siam Park, and was 'amazed' by the authentic design of the park.

On her second day, she met up with Wolfgang Kiessling, the founder of Loro Parque, for a guided tour.  Towards the end of the day, she was lucky enough to enjoy a Dolphin and Orca show.

This isn't the first time Tenerife, and Siam Park in particular has been blessed with a visit from royalty - Princess Maha Charkri Sirindhorn of Thailand was on hand top officialy open the park.
