Tenerife shooting forward

by DestinationTenerife

In a first for Tenerife, a new complex was announced today which will contain the very first shooting range on the Island.  Being built in Taucho, just outside of Adeje, the range will be approved by the federation for Olympic level practice, and will have several ranges to choose from, as well as a large conference room, a cafeteria and the very real possibility that classes will be taught for people to learn to shoot.

Over 2000 people living in Tenerife have a license to allow them to use a gun, but until now there has been nowhere for them to practice and hone their skills.

Expected to be completed in late November, the range proves to be a big draw with both Tenerife holiday makers, as well as residents on the Island.

by DestinationTenerife

So far in our 'Top 5' series, we've covered locations and beaches.  But with the wide range of excursions and places to visit in Tenerife available, we thought we'd bring you the top 5 attractions to visit whilst you're on holiday in Tenerife.

5. Dolphin & Whale Tours

Tenerife Island has a huge variety of different boating excursions, including game fishing, La Gomera trips and diving - but one of the most visited excursions is by far Whale and Dolphin watching.  Most trips leave from one of the many harbours in Tenerife and generally last anything from a couple of hours right up to half a day.  Some will include drinks and food in the price, but either way, you are normally guaranteed to see plenty of dolphins with excellent picture opportunities. The top 5 locations in Tenerife

by DestinationTenerife

Starting our weekly 'Tenerife Top 5' series is a run down of the Top 5 Locations within Tenerife itself.  With holidays in Tenerife becoming more popular due to the low cost involved, especially from the UK, and the practically year round sunshine, Tenerife Hotels are experiencing a resurgence over recent years.

5. Puerto de la Cruz

Puerto de la Cruz, just outside the capital, Santa Cruz, is a beautiful location for visitors to Tenerife.  With a wide range of flora and fauna throughout the city, it stands testament to the fact that a Holiday in Tenerife doesn't have to be solely about sun, sea and sangria.  Located in the North of the Island, a simple hour away from the more well known resorts of Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos, it is a great place to visit for sightseeing and relaxation.

It is also home to Loro Parque, which is one of the main tourist attractions in Tenerife.  A beautiful zoo, it currently contains over 3,500 animals, located over 33 acres of lovingly crafted habitats.  The park itself holds several records, including the world's largest indoor penguin exhibition, Europe's largest dolphin pool and the longest shark tunnel in Europe.  A visit to Tenerife isn't complete without at least a day trip to see Loro Parque!
