In a bid to increase tourists and bring many new Jobs, the Irish based flyers announced that they would be opening a total of 39 more Winter routes, with 8 of these new flights travelling to Tenerife.

They are anticipating this expansion will bring 2 million new flyers to the Canary Islands, and create roughly 2000 new jobs.

The flights begin in October, and leave from Birmingham, Bristol and Bournemouth.

The 18th Canarian International Jazz Festival, with stars such as the James Taylor Quartet and CTI All Stars comes to Tenerife.

Air Europa, the Spanish owned airline company, recently announced that plan to introduce a once weekly flight connecting Miami and Tenerife direct from June the 20th of this year.

Lidl, the giant German discount chain of supermarket stores, announced yesterday that it has plans for 12 of it's supermarkets to open in the Canary Islands.  Five of these will be located in Tenerife, at La Laguna, Puerto de la Cruz, Granadilla, San Miguel, and Adeje. (more...)
