So far in our 'Top 5' series, we've covered locations and beaches. But with the wide range of excursions and places to visit in Tenerife available, we thought we'd bring you the top 5 attractions to visit whilst you're on holiday in Tenerife.
Tenerife Island has a huge variety of different boating excursions, including game fishing, La Gomera trips and diving - but one of the most visited excursions is by far Whale and Dolphin watching. Most trips leave from one of the many harbours in Tenerife and generally last anything from a couple of hours right up to half a day. Some will include drinks and food in the price, but either way, you are normally guaranteed to see plenty of dolphins with excellent picture opportunities. (more...)

Starting our weekly 'Tenerife Top 5' series is a run down of the Top 5 Locations within Tenerife itself. With holidays in Tenerife becoming more popular due to the low cost involved, especially from the UK, and the practically year round sunshine, Tenerife Hotels are experiencing a resurgence over recent years.
Puerto de la Cruz, just outside the capital, Santa Cruz, is a beautiful location for visitors to Tenerife. With a wide range of flora and fauna throughout the city, it stands testament to the fact that a Holiday in Tenerife doesn't have to be solely about sun, sea and sangria. Located in the North of the Island, a simple hour away from the more well known resorts of Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos, it is a great place to visit for sightseeing and relaxation.
It is also home to Loro Parque, which is one of the main tourist attractions in Tenerife. A beautiful zoo, it currently contains over 3,500 animals, located over 33 acres of lovingly crafted habitats. The park itself holds several records, including the world's largest indoor penguin exhibition, Europe's largest dolphin pool and the longest shark tunnel in Europe. A visit to Tenerife isn't complete without at least a day trip to see Loro Parque!
