Airport operator BAA has announced that it has put Gatwick Airport up for sale. BAA made the decision following a report by the Competition Commission that compelled the company to sell two of its three London airports in order to improve services for airlines and passengers. Since the Madrid aeroplane disaster another flight , this time from Barcelona to the Canary Islands , was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Malaga last Sunday .This was put down to a technical problem and the airline has said that it did not constitute an emergency as such . The previous day a flight from Zurich to Malaga had to make an emergency landing in Geneva because of a reported bomb scare . None of the passengers was hurt
