Rod Stewart rocks out in Tenerife
by DestinationTenerifeAs most of you know, Rod Stewart performed here in Tenerife on the 16th May. The concert was a sell out, with in excess of fifteen thousand people at the concert itself, which is practically a record for music in Tenerife.
The Costa Adeje concert was such a success that when Rod finished off the evening with an amazing rendition of 'Sailing', the whole audience joined in.
However, some audience members weren't very pleased with the way he left the stage after the show had finished, without so much as a goodbye, or a wave.
The director of Canaries Live Sun Festival (the promoter who organised both this and the Elton John concert earlier this year), Jordi Espulgas, said:
"Rod has offered us a huge concert that has left everyone fully satisfied, besides which he happily spent three days in Tenerife as a mini-break with his family, visiting different parts of the island, enjoying local food and strolling along Fañabé beach in peace and quiet. In his farewell at the airport he said that he had even contemplated extending his stay for one week but couldn't as he had business matters to attend to in the U.K."
There is no doubt amongst the promoters, residents and workers on Tenerife that thanks to the high profile visits of Elton John and Rod Stewart to Tenerife, the Canaries and Tenerife in particular have strengthened their position as a viable place for International big name musical artists to visit.
We're all waiting with baited breath to see what Canaries Live Sun Festival can come up with next for the people of Tenerife.
