NIE number

Hi

A few people have told me that you need to have an NIE number to work in Tenerife.
Can you tell me what that is and how I go about getting one, do I get it from the UK before I move over there or do I get it when I arrive?

you get this here in tenerife you go to the police station in playa de las americas bring your passport they will process this with the application form that they will give you if you need any advice please give me a buzz call me is best
