Los Silos
Los Silos is a municipality in the northwestern part of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It is located about 70 km ESW of the island's capital, NW of Los Cristianos and Las Américas of Arona and about 60 km NW of Reina Sofia Airport.
The population is 5,545 (ISTAC, 2003), its density is 228.85/km² and the area is 24.23 km². The elevation is 200 m. Santaiago del Teide is linked north of the TF1 superhighway and northwest of the TF38 and west of the TF2 superhighway.
Farmlands are in the valley areas and within the Atlantic, the hills are around the area and the mountains to the south.
The main economy are business, tourism and agriculture until the 1990s, agriculture was the dominant industry in Los Silos and rural formed the majority of the population.
