Tegueste is a municipality of the northern part of the island of Tenerife in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife province, on the Canary Islands. It is surrounded by the municipality of San Cristóbal de La Laguna and is the only municipality that is ssurrounded by a municipality on land in the Canary Islands. The city is also a suburban area of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife area. Tegueste became independent from San Cristóbal de La Laguna in the 17th century.

Its economy are business and agriculture. Tourism is less common than its coastline and two large cities on Tenerife. The urban area dominates the central parts, the mountains, grasslands and some farmlands cover the rest of the municipality.
